My mother was a kimono teacher, and from an early age, her students would visit our home. She was always moved by the beautiful transformation it created. But, it is said less than 5% of people in Japan can wear a kimono now, because it is quite challenging to put on.
One common issue with antique kimonos is their small size, as Japanese people were generally smaller in the past. Typically, kimonos require folding a part called "ohashiyori." However, we've redesigned the process to eliminate this fold, allowing even taller individuals to wear these beautiful antique kimonos comfortably, without a trained kimono dresser.
How it Works
1: Choose your favorite kimono (about 15 minutes)
2: Create your easy-to-wear kimono (about 1.5 hours)
3: Try on your kimono and obi, then take photos and change back (about 15 minutes)
