Overview

At 532.4 meters above sea level, Otaru Mt.Tengu is the symbol of Otaru.

At the top of the mountain, there are five observation decks, a restaurant, a tengu statue that is said to grant wishes if you stroke its nose, a slide and other playground equipment, and other attractions such as the Tengu-no-Yakata, Tenguyama Shrine, and a chipmunk park (open from May to the end of September).

The observatory overlooks the Sea of Japan and the city, and is considered one of the “Three Greatest Night Views of Hokkaido” for its beautiful nightscape that looks like a scattering of jewels, and was awarded a star in the Michelin Green Guide Japon 2009.

At TENGUU CAFE, is the closest to the sky in Otaru, you can enjoy delicious food and beverages while admiring the spectacular view.
