Description

Soyokyo Nakayama Dam is located in the upper reaches of the Gokase River, Japan's cleanest river. It is part of the Aso Geopark. You can enjoy it according to the season from spring to autumn. The meeting place is the former Soyo Town Hall, now the Soyokyo General Branch Office. It is about 30 minutes from Minamiaso and 40 minutes from Takachiho. The boarding point is a little difficult to drive because it is a narrow road that winds down, so we will travel by our company's car. Morning departures are at 9:30 and afternoon departures are at 13:00. There is almost no current, so it is perfect for first-time canoeing experience. We set out from the edge of the dam lake and head for the waterfall downstream. We take photos with the spray of the waterfall and the pleasant breeze of negative ions right in front of us! There we take a drink break while still in the canoe (one drink per person). From there, we go back upstream and go further upstream than the boarding point!
