Enjoy the popular winter smelt fishing on ice near Sapporo. Experience the smelt fishing at the popular Barato River, about 30-40 minutes by car from central Sapporo! This experience is recommended for those traveling by rental car or locals who can get there on their own! The tour meets and disbands at the location, and the time is set short, so you can play until the time limit is up or return at any time you like, making it easy to tailor your trip to your schedule. There's also a steakhouse, Barato Garden North Hill, right in front of the fishing spot, where you can enjoy a delicious Jingisukan lunch. Fishing equipment and boots are available for free rental, so you can come empty-handed! If you have trouble baiting the line, touching the fish, or don't know how to catch them, our guides will support you! We'll do our best to help you so you can concentrate on your fishing! Tempura tasting is available (subject to availability depending on the catch). *The tour runs from mid-January to late March (subject to ice conditions).
