As exemplified by Hiroshima's souvenir "Momiji Manju" (maple leaf-shaped steamed buns), the maple leaf is both the official tree and flower of Hiroshima Prefecture! Because the maple leaf changes color with the seasons—green in spring and red in autumn—it's also said to symbolize being good at navigating life. Through creating auspicious maple leaves using mizuhiki (decorative cord), which is said to connect people, we hope you'll deepen your connection with Hiroshima! Mizuhiki symbolizes guaranteeing unopened packaging, warding off evil, and, because it's tied by pulling the cord, it also symbolizes matchmaking for both men and women.
