Overview

The Kurobe Gorge Railway is a sightseeing train where you can enjoy the scenery while riding slowly through Japan’s most magnificent gorge. Passengers can appreciate fresh greenery in spring, cool breezes in summer, and colorful autumn leaves in fall.

Please note that waiting times may occur during busy periods. The service operates round trips between Unazuki Station and Nekomata Station.

Operating Period: From April 20, 2026 to September 30, 2026. Service is not available from October 1 onward.

Children aged 5 and under (preschoolers) may ride free of charge if seated on the lap of an accompanying adult. If a separate seat is required, a Child Ticket must be purchased.

Please present your QR code at the “Same-Day Ticket” counter at Unazuki Station at least 20 minutes before your desired departure time to exchange for your ticket.

Stopovers are not permitted with a round-trip ticket.

During busy periods such as Golden Week, Obon, and the autumn foliage season, you may not be able to board at your desired time.

Coin lockers are available at Unazuki Station (500 yen per use, maximum size: 80cm high × 35cm wide × 48cm deep). Large baggage that does not fit in the lockers can be kept temporarily at Unazuki Station (1,000 yen per item).

Please present the QR code to the staff at the same-day ticket counter of Unazuki Station at least 20 minutes before your desired departure time, and exchange it for a round-trip ticket for your designated time.
